BetMGM Sportsbook had Carter at -450 to go third overall on April 17, but has because seen his chances shorten to -600. That cost carries an implied likelihood of 85.7 percent.
Travis Hunter is the second favorite to go to the Giants at No. 3 overall at +400.
No. 3 total choice wagering chances
Hunter is now an overwhelming preferred to go to the Browns at No. 2, but there is an outdoors opportunity that Cleveland selects quarterback Shedeur Sanders in that area rather.
If that happens, the Giants might go with Hunter, a two-way star out of Colorado, rather.
For many of the 2024 season, sports betting it seemed like an inescapable conclusion that the Giants would target a quarterback in this position, sports betting but general manager Joe Schoen signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the offseason and has actually hinted the group most likely won't be choosing a signal-caller at No. 3.
The odds on Carter at this point are too short to get associated with, but if you're trying to find a fun Giants-related bet you can bank on there to be some turmoil in Round 1 with a small play on Sanders (22/1) to go No. 2 overall, and then Hunter (4/1) to go to Big Blue at No. 3.
It deserves keeping in mind that this is a long shot, so it's not likely to win, but I 'd rather spray something little on this path than lay serious juice on Carter, since there is a way this goes sideways.
